One of the most important port cities in the entire Puglia region is undoubtedly Bari, with a rich ancient history, although its origins are uncertain. On Mr Ferry you will find all connections available to and from Bari!
History tells us that in prehistoric times, Illyrian peoples inhabited the city. The founder of Bari was Japige from Crete and later under siege by Captain Barion, from him, it took the name Bari.
The port of Bari is divided into two areas: the Porto Nuovo, dedicated to cargo and passenger traffic, and the Porto Vecchio, dedicated to yachting and fishing.
The port of Bari welcomes over 2 million passengers and 50 thousand cars and motor homes every year. The ferry terminal offers many services for transit travelers, including restaurants, stores, pizzerias, ATMs, information center, waiting rooms and parking.
Ferries connect Bari to some countries overlooking the Adriatic Sea such as Albania, Montenegro, Greece and Croatia. The shipping companies that manage departures from Bari are Adria Ferries, Jadrolinija, Grandi Navi Veloci, Superfast Ferries, Ventouris and European Ferries.
The departures to Bari are scheduled throughout the year from the ports of Durres, Igoumenitsa and Patras, while in high season it is possible to reach the port of Dubrovnik, Bar, Saranda, Kefalonia, Corfu and Vlora. The crossing can take from 11 to 13 hours, depending on the port of arrival!
HERE IS A TIP: if you want the cheapest tickets on the market, ideally you should look for them months in advance so as not to fall into the trap of the high season when prices soar!
